It’s a hard semester for everyone, Combeferre and Joly are working an internship, Éponine works two jobs and somehow gets it all done, and Grantaire drinks himself an inch from incoherent every night. Enjolras doesn’t have it worse than anyone - better than most. This year keeps stretching him thinner and thinner. It keeps knocking Enjolras down and, for the first time in twenty-one years, he cannot figure how to get back up again.

Summary
Demetri isn’t quite sure how his life got to this point. One minute, he’s keeping his head down, watching Doctor Who and playing Dungeon Lord with his best friend, the next, he’s caught up in a karate war and ‘best friend’ feels too juvenile to even begin describing his and Eli’s relationship.
Here’s what he knows: Eli has a mohawk and it must have some kind of Green Goblin helmet-like ability to turn his best friend into the worst person alive with some hair gel and some toxic masculinity, there’s too many full grown men beating teenagers up in order to teach them to more efficiently beat up other teenagers, and this ‘friends with benefits’ situation has spiralled in a way Demetri never would've guessed.

Deciding he wasn’t going to find anything better or that he’d prefer to spend his limited coins on, Remus was ready to turn around and head straight for the counter when a decidedly non-Welsh voice called out behind him, “Oh, that’s a great album!”
If Remus didn’t know the person speaking wasn’t British from their accent, he’d certainly know from their choice to speak to a complete stranger rather than politely ignoring them and pretending they didn’t exist.
Turning, he found an American girl about his age hovering behind him. She was a head shorter than him, and her shift dress flowed around her knees as she pushed herself onto her tiptoes before quickly lowering herself back onto her soles like she couldn’t find it in herself to stay still. She reminded him of James in that moment, her dark, large eyes blinking expectantly at him before flickering back to the Queen record in his grip.
