Summary
Jane doesn’t believe in destiny. She believes in poor footwear choices and bad luck, both of which land her at the bottom of a cave in Wales and somehow, inexplicably, in the lower tunnels of Erebor.
Thorin, Kili and Fili have mysteriously survived the battle of the five armies and the Mountain is being rebuilt stone by stone. And Jane, who read the books and knows how the story was supposed to go, is now living inside it with no map, no exit, and an increasingly complicated relationship with the king who wasn’t supposed to survive.
