Everyone needs a little drama.
The golden apple, the cherry picked from the Heavens, a tempting delight—all different names for the beauty of everyone's eyes, Crustfall High. No one could argue that it wasn't perfect, it had to be. Had they not seen the flourishing gardens? Outstanding reaches the students had gone to attend there? They had, but no one saw what hid behind the golden gates. The ones that led straight to the deceitful waters behind.
There were lies that tore apart students and brought them down to the lowest social standing till they quit. Water snakes hid, waiting to snatch them down and bring them into their layer. Lily pads floated on the surface, blissfully unaware of what dangers lay below. Flowers bloomed along the edges of the river, some flourishing while others rot away in their demise of a rotten soil.
It wasn't a High School, it was the rotten core of an apple.
