"Do you think there's something wrong with me?" Shane broke the silence, lifting his gaze slightly. Ilya frowned and shook his head no immediately. "Ilya... there has to be. These meltdowns or whatever they are aren't normal. I know that."
"Not being 'normal' doesn't mean you have a problem, Shane," Ilya countered softly, resting his chin against his husband's temple, settling him even closer against his body.
"I'm sorry..." Shane's voice came out small. His unfocused gaze wandered around the room while his fingers mechanically scratched under Anya's chin. She was now blinking slowly, surrendering to sleep.
"For what?"
"It's just..." Shane let out a shaky sigh. "You're the one with depression. I'm the one who should be taking care of you, not the other way around. Having these meltdowns..."

But as their heat and rut approaches, something they have never shared before, Shane wonders if it might be time to talk about the next part of their relationship. Cliff gapes at him.In which the hit that Cliff Marleau had on Shane Hollander goes a little different. For one, they’re in Boston. For another, Ilya realizes he might be panicking? Which is probably not something to do in the middle of a game. And, oh yeah, he just outed both himself and his not-boyfriend to an entire locker room of hockey players.
But that’s okay, because while Boston may be vicious, they do take care of their own. And they quickly realize that their captain’s happiness and willingness to stay with the Bears is tied to Shane Hollander. The solution is easy, they’ll just have to make Shane Hollander a Bear.
