Summary
In the end, Hanbin settles on sending Zhang Hao two million won, and she rolls over so her back is flat against her rumpled blanket. On a whim, she attaches a note containing the singular word please. Zhang Hao does not take well to direct requests, tending to understand them as presumptuous commands, hence Hanbin’s message being purposely vague. Maybe Hanbin will get lucky and receive a selfie. She misses Zhang Hao’s face.

Summary
A sickness tinged in her stomach, rotting her inward parts. Hanbin ruined her, made her grotesque, pathetic, by stripping her of the basic human empathy around the murders and the families affected. She wanted to be the only person who could sustain Hanbin, be the only reason she woke up in the morning.
The full moon was high in the sky, and Zhang Hao was on her period. Hanbin was a vampire, searching for her monthly fix. The story goes as you expect.

She expects Zanka to snap at her when she tells her that they should end things, but Zanka… doesn’t? In fact, she seems perfectly fine with that decision.
Jabber doesn’t like that.

“Nah, listen.” Jabber leans in, voice low and conspiratorial. “Poisons, synthetics, the natural stuff—love ‘em all. But our bodies? They’re chemical factories. Adrenaline in a fight, that dump of shit you get when you’re ’bout to die. Oxytocin when you’re gettin’—”
Zanka slams her knee on the underside of the table. “Jabber.”
“—fucked,” Jabber finishes sweetly.
Zanka inhales through her nose so sharply her teeth ache. Her nails dig into her palms until she feels half moon indents. She doesn’t know if she’s angry, embarrassed, or aroused. Probably yes to all three.
Whatever imaginary multiple choice test she’s taking, she’s failing it.
