She hesitated a moment, the set of her mouth flagging gently. There may have been a bit more bite in his words than he'd wanted. “Are you… capable of relaxing?” she asked faux-cheerily, matching his tone. “Even a little bit?”

When he didn't answer right away she amended her question. “Are you capable of pretending to be someone capable of relaxing?”
