Jongho says, “I just can’t believe you would agree to this, you know,” circling back to the topic because it has only taken seconds for Hongjoong’s life to crumble to pieces and there hasn’t been an actual pause in the conversation.
“It’s not that bad,” Hongjoong lies. It is the worst thing he’s ever done; he is not going to make it home in one piece.
“It’s just that,” Jongho whispers, and it’s so pressing and he sounds so assured for some reason that Hongjoong actually takes in the words when he continues, “if my ex asked me to be his fake date to make his situationship jealous, I’d be losing it sometime around now and make it everyone’s problem, that’s all.”
Hongjoong hears him chuckle humourlessly, sees a glint of satisfaction in his eyes at having Hongjoong’s feathers ruffled when he turns his head to glare.
“Jongho-yah,” he grits, trying to stay composed and not lose it like Jongho has so eloquently put, but there’s a bristling sound somewhere close and it’s steadily becoming louder. “What the fuck are you talking about?”

Mingi rolls his eyes, bemused. “If you wanted that, you would’ve gone to Hongjoong first.” His gaze then drops with mild concern, tracking where Wooyoung is taking his stress out on his food by hastily splitting pieces of it away from the mainland. “Besides, this won't be the craziest thing you’ve ever done.”
Wooyoung’s eyes dart upwards and his fingers skid to a stop. “What is, then?”
Mingi’s lips give a slight twitch at the corners. “Dumping Yunho.”
