“Hey.” Xiao Xingchen looks up from the drawer where he’s neatly folding and putting away his clothing. His expression’s mild—too mild. Like he’s expecting Xue Yang.
Xue Yang narrows his eyes, letting his black duffle bag slide off his shoulder. “Why aren’t you pissed I’m not Song Lan? You two are practically conjoined twins.”
Xingchen’s brows knit together, the only sign he might not be happy. Then his face relaxes, a small smile curving his lips. “Jin-shifu felt this would be a better arrangement. He thought that perhaps I might be a gentling influence on you.”
