“Bastard,” William said, giving up and relaxing, Mike’s grip easing as he did, though he didn’t let go. It felt good to be held down.
“You asked for it,” Mike said.
“I literally didn’t,” William said, tugging again.
“Yeah, you did,” Mike said, laughing. “But better that than being a bitch until I have to hit you.”
William wanted Mike to hit him. Not enough to act up and ruin the fragile partnership they were forming again, but he wanted Mike to hit him. He must have lost his ability to control his face in the years he’d spent offstage, though, because Mike’s eyes narrowed before William could find a snarky response.
“Mike—“ William started, only for Mike to bend down and cut him off with a hard kiss.Mike flies out to Chicago sometime in 2024 to work on writing with Bill and the two of them make it through a grand total of one song before they end up falling back into old habits.
