His spine curves and his head tilts forward, and instead of resting his chin on her shoulder or turning his face into her neck or wrapping his arms around her, he presses his forehead against her again. Hard. Like he's trying to push through her.
She goes still for a second. Her collarbone is firm under his forehead, and she smells like the hospital still, not yet like herself again, and her hand settles gently on the back of his skull.
He stays there, eyes closed, and every exhale pushes his head harder into her.
