She cried for two hours, and Ms. Briar made him go to the quiet chair. “One day, your mouth is really going to get you into trouble!” she’d scolded with a wagging finger.
Stiles contemplates those words as his dad’s new deputy hauls him into the station.
He’s still totally going to blame Scott for the situation, though

Summary
A figure crests the edge of the house. Stiles squints in the sparse light of the half-moon, and is shocked when he sees that it’s Derek.
“What are you doing?” Stiles asks quietly.
Derek finishes climbing up onto the roof in one graceful swoop, and then he crosses the slanted surface quickly.
“This is dangerous,” Derek greets as he takes the spot beside Stiles. “You could fall and break your neck.”
Stiles has trouble dealing with the after effects of the nogitsune, and Derek finds him sitting on his roof.

It takes him a while to actually notice it’s not just Stiles sprawled across their couch, but to be fair to him, he isn’t really thinking about anything but finally getting some sleep and maybe liberating one of the cookies that Stiles thinks are well hidden behind the microwave. He's half way to covering the boys up with a blanket when he finally notices.
That is definitely not Scott McCall.
It is in fact definitely Derek Hale. Derek Hale the 26 year old. Who his son is currently lying on, head tucked under Derek’s chin, Derek’s hands clenched in the back of his t-shirt.
“Um,” the Sheriff says. He wasn't prepared for this.

Summary
“I’m fine, son,” his dad assures him. “I got a call from Mrs Hudson next door, though.” Stiles can hear the scratch of his dad’s palm against the skin of his jaw, even over the phone. “Apparently there’s a man standing in our front yard?”
Stiles jerks upwards, forgetting that he’s underneath a pretty solid piece of furniture and smacking his head against a desk leg.
“Kid?”
Stiles ignores his dad, and the large black spots floating through his vision, and scuttles over to the window, keeping low. He stops for a second to catch his breath and brace himself, then pops his head over the sill.
He exhales on a curse.

Derek is standing at Jason’s reception desk, looking the same as he does in Stiles’ dreams except that he’s breathtakingly real, from the two-day stubble to the jewel-bright eyes to the little cow-licks in his hair he always tries to gel into submission. Stiles sees the exact moment he realizes that he can’t get a scent, because his eyebrows flick up in surprise and hurt. In the supernatural community, scent blocking is rude to the point of hostility. It means you’re hiding something.
Stiles has no idea what his own face is doing, but after the slip, Derek schools his into something so tightly composed it seems like an admission in itself. It hardly feels like years can have passed since they saw each other last, except that propped on Derek’s hip, chubby hand curled at her mouth...
Emily. She’s grown into that distinctive Hale coloring; pale skin and dark hair. She has Derek’s hazel green eyes, too. Two tidy pigtails curl above each of her ears, held with red bubble ties.
“Oh,” Stiles says faintly. He’d braced himself for Derek, but only him. “Her hair’s longer.”
