“When I said that this is something serious.”
Shane blushed and looked away.
Ilya gently grabbed Shane's chin and brought his face up to meet Ilya’s eyes.
“I like it too.”

Shane and Ilya don’t hook up until a little later on in their story, but not for lack of trying or interest. When they do finally get together, things move faster and feelings are expressed sooner. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t difficult moments to overcome on the path to their happy ending.
This story is an exploration of a completely alternative timeline in the Hollanov love story—using a combination of the show and the original Heated Rivalry and Long Game books. There will be pining, yearning, big emotional moments, and angsty roadblocks. With, of course, a very happy ending for our boys.

Summary
Seven years of knowing each other, and four of those they spent as friends with an insane amount of benefits, it doesn’t take long for either of them to learn how to function in each other’s space with a precision that rivals even those married couples out there.
Or, Shane breaks off a four-years long running friends with benefits relationship with Ilya because he is finally ready to enter the dating scene now. Ilya, unable to cope like a normal person, concocts a plan to make Shane just date him instead.
