Summary
After Julie rejected Dex, his world was shattered. Untethered and alone, he has to shift focus onto something new. His work can only do so much.
You were new to the city, working a job at the Presidential hotel as a front desk receptionist. Every day you see the same FBI agents coming in and leaving, but one in particular was of interest to you. He never spoke to anyone.
Friendliness turns into obsession and stalking. Dex needs to learn more about you; the girl with an elusive past that you never want to talk about. Both are trying to fill a void, but neither know who they're really dealing with.

His right eye cracked open first, groaning at the sunlight pouring through the bare window. The left followed, pulling a figure into focus – a woman standing at his bedside, haloed in gold like the sun itself had chosen her. An incandescent spotlight.
Dark hair spilling loose, long and wavy. Fine-boned features with a hint of elfin, like she belonged half to this world and half to a storybook. A bowed mouth shaped like it had secrets worth keeping, and wide doe eyes men braver than him might gladly fight and die for.
“Mister Jane?”
Awfully formal even for a one night stand.
“Did we… sleep together?”
“What? No!” Her indignation hitched sharp, umbrage written plain enough that even through the fog in his head, he felt the sting.OR the one where Jane needs a bodyguard.
