Summary
Meera Bolton is a few months shy of eighteen when she begins her first term at the University of Oxford.
Baelor Targaryen hasn't been eighteen for twenty-two years.
With the big gap between their ages, it makes sense that the only thing they have in common is philosophy; the subject she's majoring in and he's teaching. But it isn't the only thing they have in common. There's also a fondness for the Stone Roses. And a dislike for sparkling water. And an innate, quiet curiosity. And a void in their bellies that no food can fill. And a loneliness that stems, perhaps, from being a firstborn (never mind that his birth took place over two decades before hers did). And a horrible, horrible desire.
What makes this shared desire so horrible is the other thing they have in common: Baelor's son.
Oh, and Baelor's wife too.
