According to a divine prophecy, Mike and his party have a year to defeat Vecna before the Undying King fulfills his mission of destroying the world and killing everyone on it. So, no pressure.
On top of this, Mike has been given his own prophecy which states that, during the final battle with Vecna, he would meet the person he was destined to fall in love with- His soulmate. Except there was one problem with this:

Summary
“I fake it… with Carla,” Willow says quietly, her face flushing endearingly. Michelle can only stare at her, her brain struggling to actually listen to Willow’s words instead of just staring at her lips when she talks. Willow scoffs, squirming like she’s embarrassed by Michelle’s silence, by the need to explain herself. “You know, Mich. The finish.”
“Having an orgasm,” Dana helpfully supplies, casually, like the information isn’t currently turning her insides into mush.
Michelle’s brain, which she’s seriously considering disowning with the sheer stupidity it’s supplying her with today, immediately flashes with a thought, pulsing and undeniable and completely immovable:

Summary
Mike's been touching Will, sleeping in the same bed, playing D&D but only the two of them, and calling him beautiful. Will Byers is losing his mind.
Season 5 rewrite (byler, henderhop, steddie) where Will has a gun, Mike becomes a vampire, and the dead are brought back to life to be kissed. Vecna has also decided to play a horrifyingly real game of D&D.
“Hey, look, I’m on my knees, and I’m asking, El, please, I’m asking you, tell me what’s wrong.”
Her fingers are claws, and she stretches them forcefully so they are straight. She will not be upset. There are words she can say to make him stop talking. There are things she can do.
1. Throw him across the room with her mind.
2. Show him Will’s sketch-paper.
3. Ask why Strahd has a boyfriend.
These are all stabby things that will stab Mike. So she says, “I like Dustin. I kissed him, and I like him better.”

Summary
Argyle’s pizza van rattled along the road, the radio playing softly. Will noticed it before anyone said anything — the way Jonathan kept glancing at El in the rearview mirror, the way her jaw was clenched tight, her hands balled into fists in her lap.
El looked angry.
That was new. Especially after a call from Mike.
Before Will could ask what was wrong, she turned sharply toward him.
“He is not coming,” El said, her voice sharp with something between anger and hurt.
“W–what?” Will stammered. “You mean… Mike’s not coming here for spring break?”
El looked away, swallowing. “He has bad grades,” she said quietly. “His mom is very angry.”
“Oh.”

Summary
Out of summer boredom, Mike and Will start making bets. Mike decides to up the stakes, offering the loser should do everything the other tells him for the rest of the summer.
Mike loses.
And somehow, following Will’s orders isn’t as bad as it should be...
Or: Will wins a bet and gets to tell Mike what to do, and it makes Mike feel all sorts of things ;)
Pasteur saw that germs only appear if there’s exposure to the outside world.
Darwin saw that finches with certain beak shapes survived while others went extinct.
And Mike Wheeler saw that being told what to do by his best friend makes him horny.The question asked after all of these discoveries, inevitably, is - why?
