An invisible force tugs him closer, closer, closer.
Dream seems to understand. Perhaps the desire is clear on his face. The blond lets out a shaky breath and his eyelids fall closed. George curls his fingers around Dream's chin and tilts his head down, leaning forward and pressing a barely-there kiss just below Dream's right eye. And as if returning the favour, he purposefully remains for longer than necessary.
As George moves away to kiss the spot right between his eyebrows, Dream opens his mouth and speaks.
“I’m pretty sure I’m in love with you.”

It had seemingly been the correct choice, because there was an immediate change in Ghost’s behavior. Soap watched as his eyes widened, and a long, low whine came from his throat. Soap had the lieutenant whining and writhing underneath him, all from just a few words. It made him feel powerful beyond belief.”

"Jacobs," The voice outside his door was one so familiar, always accompanied by a rapid succession of knocking.
Karl rolled his eyes as he leaned his cello against his bed, walking towards his door, and swung it open.
"What?" Karl asked.
"Curfew was like seven hours ago, will you please shut up," Sapnap hissed.
"I'm writing a piece and if I wait until tomorrow-"
"You'll forget it, I know, I know, you've said that countless times before-" Sapnap groaned. "Might I suggest voice notes? Fucking, sing it out, Jacobs."

Karl Jacob plays the cello and he plays it really well, he also composes his own music sometimes. That's really cool and Sapnap appreciates that being a violinist himself, but playing it at 4 AM? Come on, dude. Worst. Neighbor. Ever
The fact that they're both auditioning for Julliard and puts them into an indirect competition? Let's just that say that the week leading up to the audition that's filled with 4 AM practices makes the tension so much worse.

He sat up, struggling to balance. Dream’s laughter cut through, interrupting Karl in Sapnap’s mind, and he clumsily hit Dream on the mouth to shut up.
“What is it?” Dream asked, grabbing Sapnap’s shoulder to keep him up.

It is only then that Quackity allows himself to cry.

George feels like his whole body is curling into itself.

A fact. The inevitable truth crashing down.
Dream hums quietly, then speaks again, this time more gentle, more hesitant. “Do you still love me?”
An exhausted and apathetic George, plagued by shifting dreams and nightmares, runs away from the SMP to live out the rest of his life alone in the wilderness. Eight months later, Dream shows up on his doorstep, and he's forced to reconcile with the past that's been haunting him.
