Summary
“...What I’m trying to say is, we’re best friends, you know? There’s nothing romantic about it. Just best friends.”
“Best friends who live together and raise two kids,” Eddie adds, perplexed.
“Yes!” Buck agrees, nodding, “Exactly.”
“Okay,” Eddie says, but it’s not, not at all. He’ll be demanding answers soon.
(Or, Eddie wakes up without remembering most of his life. He doesn’t freak out, really, he just needs someone to explain why is he not married to Buck.)

Summary
“Huh, you know, I never thought about it like that,” Eddie says, out of the blue.
Buck glances up from his plate, “About what?” he asks.
“It actually makes sense— Us being together, I mean,” Eddie explains, casually, gesturing with his hands.
Buck almost chokes, “What?”
(Or, everyone in New México calls Eddie gay, assuming he’s with Buck. He thinks they might be onto something…)

Summary
“Oh my God, I’m fine.” Buck says, sounding exasperated. “Will you—will you stop acting like you’re my fucking boyfriend?” he snaps.
Eddie shakes his head, “Acting like... What is that supposed to mean?” he narrows his eyes.
Buck huffs, “You know what it means, Eddie. I can’t—You’re not.”
“Bullshit.”
(Or, after coming back from New México, Buck is going through a lot, and he keeps pretending he’s not. Luckily, Eddie sees him.)

Summary
“You shouldn’t be here, either. He’s an asshole, he’s not even—”
“Why do you care?" Buck interrupts him, raising his tone, “It’s not like I’m gonna marry him!”
“I sure hope not!” Eddie replies loudly, offended, then, thinks to himself, you’re gonna marry me.
(Or, Buck decides to date again. Unsurprisingly, Eddie crashes out and sort of steals someone’s identity in the process. It goes better than expected… Truly.)

Summary
“I got jealous, okay? The guy was all,” he gestures with his hands, huffing, “over you.”
Buck frowns, “Uh, but—”
Eddie shakes his head, “Just—forget it,” he mumbles.
(Or, Eddie goes to the mall with his best friend Buck, and he gets some big revelations along the way.)
