Summary

“Don’t call me ‘man’. I’m not your man,” Miguel stated with that same blank face, almost sensing a hint of amusement on the corner of his mouth.
“Are you trying to be?” You quipped back quickly, leaning on air with your feet planted, shooting him a wink. This was one of your favorite bits. You loved flirting with Miguel until he got flustered and left you alone, which was your usual copout when he followed you around to monitor your missions. God, he was so annoying.
“Don’t do that,” the brunette frowned back, his eyebrows furrowing as he looked down at you. You loved that expression, when you could finally tell you were getting on his nerves. It fueled something in you; you liked watching his cold demeanor crack under playful jabs. And, to be honest, for you it was really easy.

You could feel his gaze on you, your face at first, then the notebook in your lap, back to your face. He said nothing.
'How on brand for him', you thought bitterly.
Finally, you managed to shake yourself out of your strange shock and staggered to your feet, his journal still in your hands. You let your eyes travel up his form, gratefully noting that he seemed unharmed.
His eyes were still on the journal.

“What…”, you licked your lips nervously. “What would have happened if I had told you that I do want to have your child?”
It was almost funny, the way every single muscle in Vergil’s body tensed at once.
