Summary
You were never supposed to stay in Atlanta for more than a week, but a global outbreak had you stuck in a city you barely knew. Before your last semester of grad school, you and your family took a trip to Atlanta to visit your aunt. The dead started walking before you could leave the city.
Now on your own with no family or resources, you're forced to scavenge the woods for any sign of life. You made it about 3 weeks before life found you, dragging you back to the prison they were calling home.
This was the chance of a new life, new people, and a new family. It all seemed promising, except for the redneck asshole you wish you had killed when you met.
-Daryl x reader fic that follows the events of the show pretty closely. First walking dead fic, so I hope you all enjoy, and I do the characters justice!!!
