Then, that’s when he got a grand idea. An even grander one than any other idea in his life. He didn’t just want to talk to Will as Spiderman — he wanted to see just how much Will would be willing to let the one and only Spiderman have insight into his life.
So, it was settled. The next day he would sit on this same rooftop, waiting impatiently for Will Byers to leave their humble abode and when he would, Spiderman would be there to protect him. (At least, that’s what Mike wanted Will to think.)

The tears burned into his skin, hotter than his skin, and all he could do was pull his legs to his chest and bury his head into them. The dreams were all coming back, those he had pushed down in hopes of forgetting, but they were all there. Right in front of him. He felt so miserable in a way that he could not tell if he was doing it to himself on purpose or if the feeling had made its home inside of him.
