Having analyzed his attire earlier that evening from afar, she could now see that the silk of his collar cost more than Lady Levine’s entire estate, and that was enough to intimidate her into being on her best behavior in his presence now that he approached. There was certainly no question of who he was, and as she dipped into a low curtsy she watched his gaze follower her down, never breaking eye contact as a smile graced his lips.
