Summary
He shakes his head again, unable to speak around what little breaths he’s able to take in. He’s on autopilot when he’s helped over to Ana’s couch, and he fades in and out of the present, eyes squeezed tightly shut as he struggles to recapture his breathing. His hands are fists at his knees, and he hunches over, curling in on himself, shielding himself.
He stays this way until a hand tugs lightly at his wrist and a voice calls out his name gently. He’s slow to lift his gaze, but when he does, Buck crowds his vision, blue eyes impossibly worried before him.
(aka, my take on that, like, 2-second clip in the extended seasn 5 trailer where Eddie falls backwards)

Summary
The voice behind him is a sharp, familiar whisper, and Ethan jerks around, ignoring the unnatural sway to his vision to squint narrowly at the unwelcome addition to his day.
“Chris? What the hell—” Ethan tries, words cutting off when Chris slams a hand across his mouth.
“Quiet,” Chris mutters, and Ethan watches how Chris looks over his shoulder with muted alarm, and he follows his gaze, craning his neck to see an old woman with her back to them.
(aka: imagine if Redfield showed up more, was more helpful, and just helped ya boy out?)

Summary
“Eddie,” he tries again, louder, hoping to jostle Eddie awake by his voice, hoping that, maybe, Eddie’s only passed out from the pain and that the pool of blood isn’t actually draining from a potentially severe gun shot wound.
“Firefighter Buckley—”
Buck shoves away from the firefighter beside him. He ignores the hand grabbing at his shirt, ignores the voices shouting for him to come back, and then he’s hovering over Eddie, shielding him, assessing what he can of the wound with shaking hands.
Eddie’s unresponsive below him, and Buck’s stomach twists so tightly, he could double over in pain. He’s just turning around to yell for help when he’s being jerked to his feet by a cop. His eyes stay on Eddie as Eddie’s rushed onto a backboard, and he’s so focused on Eddie’s face, so desperate for a hint of life, a crease of the brow, that he doesn’t process the hand squeezing his arm or the voice close to his ear until the cop is speaking.
“Go with him, and stay low.”
(Buck is a man of his word. If he says he has Eddie's back, then he damn well means it.)

Summary
“Hi, may I speak with Mr. Evan Buckley?”
Frowning, Buck pulls the phone away from his ear. He doesn’t know the number; however, the area code is local, so he can probably rule out a scam call. At least, he thinks, the woman on the other line sounds very much real and not a robotic recording about to lead in with a cruise ship he didn’t sign up for.
“Uh, yeah. This is Buck—I mean Evan. This is Evan Buckley.” He clears his throat. He can hear a lot of background noise—a lot of muffled speaking, intercoms crackling. He’s heard it before, but he’s struggling to equate the noise to a particular memory, only having a small rock of dread burrowing low in his stomach to go by.
“Hi, Mr. Buckley. I’m Nurse Johns at LA General. I have you listed as the second emergency contact for Christopher Diaz.”
(aka: Buck learns the hard way that he's been added to a couple of emergency contact lists, and Eddie kinda sucks at communication.)

Summary
“I’m not doing this with you. You’ll say I’m crazy and I’m really not in the mood for that right now, Richie.”
“What could be crazier than fighting an insane clown in the goddamn sewers? Get real, Eds.”
Eddie chews on his lip, his brow creased. Richie focuses very hard on opening his locker so he won’t have to look.
“I think” – Eddie stops to haul in a breath, but it’s just a nervous breath, not an asthma attack breath, so Richie relaxes slightly, turns to look at him. “Ithinkmymomispoisoningme.”

Summary
Bruce Wayne is unexpectedly summoned to another dimension in the Multiverse, and his four sons are dragged along for the ride. However, the person responsible for the seemingly one-way trip isn't there to meet the Bat Family on the other side, leaving the suddenly homeless and penniless father to take care of his family in a world where Batman never existed.
Mostly focuses on Bruce's relationships with his boys, because we write what we like to read and I love protective daddy!bats. Rated for language.

Summary
The more Hank spoke, the more Connor understood the truth of the situation. The detective’s gruff baritone grated through his chest like churning gravel, and the fluorescent light from the kitchen glistened in his wet eyes. Connor observed the bathrobe, the woolen slippers, and the drawn, exhausted way Hank was breathing.
“You’re sick, Lieutenant.”
