He looked at his daughter tenderly, relieving in the feel of her fingers on the only skin surface left of his body.
Touching their foreheads affectionately, he closed his eyes, embracing the moment, of the fact that they were both still alive and well.
They had gone through so much. It was a long journey and it would continue to be. He only hoped as they moved on, they would become stronger and resilient.
He got out of his revery when Clementine tugged strands of his hair that were cascading down to her face, making him wince.
Although the feeling of pain was unwelcome, it made him feel human again.Removing her tiny little hands from his hair, he contemplated the atmosphere dotted with innumerable stars. It was still surreal for him that they were truly traveling in the cosmos. Just a few days ago, he was still walking with Clementine on the tracks dreaming of the worlds beyond...

“If you don’t quiet him down soon, I’ll give your ears something to bleed about,” Kaoru threatened. “Have you considered Taiki could be hungry?”
Mind tired and blank, Kojiro wanted to slap his forehead. Of course. The last time Taiki ate was around midnight, so he’d probably be hungry now. Reading Kojiro’s mind, Kaoru brought him the baby sling and helped put the wrap around Taiki and Kojiro. The small infant rested on his father’s chest, squirming around as he demanded food. Kaoru picked up a pacifier in the crib and handed it to Kojiro. The man put it in front of Taiki’s mouth. The baby quickly accepted the distraction away from food, sucking on the binki. Kojiro quickly gave Kaoru a kiss on the cheek.
“Love you,” Kojiro murmured. As much as he appears to be the more attentive person in the relationship, it was difficult to figure out what Taiki needed when he was crying. Kaoru always seemed to know what to do at least half of the time.
“Go feed Ta-chan, gorilla.” Kaoru grumbled, returning a short kiss on Kojiro’s lips.
