I just think that it will come across as more authentic. Our characters would look fucking desperate because we would be. Imagine all that unresolved tension.”
Henry pulls away, leaning back to support himself on his elbows. He looks at Alex consideringly, and Alex stares back, settling his weight on Henry’s thighs, waiting it out.
“Three weeks,” Henry says, tracing a finger over Alex’s shin. “I don’t think we’ve gone that long without sleeping together ever since we’ve gotten together.”
“We haven’t,” Alex agrees. “Now, imagine how that’d look on screen, baby. We’d leave everyone speechless.”

Summary
It’s been a very surreal two hours since they’d begun to suspect that Henry is in labor. Like, real labor this time.
They’ve had more than a few false starts, more than a few scares with Braxton Hicks contractions, more than a few frantic calls to their midwife’s office that ended with disappointment as they returned to the lake house sans anticipated baby. At 40 weeks + 3 days pregnant, Henry insists that this time, they will be producing a baby, even if he has to, quote, “go in there and yank her out himself”. It’s safe to say he’s over being pregnant.
So right now, as Henry grips the edge of their bedroom dresser, head hanging between his shoulders, eyes squeezed shut, suntanned skin aglow with small beads of dewy sweat, breathing laboriously, Alex hovers and tries to be useful.
