Summary
Ten years ago, a disappearance rocked a small town and thrust Chuuya's life into a tailspin he wasn't sure he could ever escape. With the loss of his best friend and first love, he ran away from that small town in the hopes of leaving everything else behind him as well; but the economic hardship of the 90s had a different plan, and four years after moving back home Chuuya has to face his grief directly in the face.
It doesn't take long for him to realize the world he thought he knew has a different side that goes unseen by almost everyone, and some things that go missing have a tendency to come back in odd ways.
Or, Chuuya meets a siren that looks exactly like his dead childhood friend.

“A hundred years,” Chuuya says again, looking up from his closed fist to meet Dazai’s eyes again. A fire of determination burns in the set of his mouth, the furrow of his brow, the look in his eyes. “I’ll hold onto it for a hundred years and then you’ll come back for it. As soon as you get your second tail. Promise?”

The other end goes quiet. For a moment Chuuya thinks the call dropped, but after an agonizing pause the voice on the other end says, “Excuse me?”
“Men,” Chuuya repeats. “Gay. Do you do that?”
There’s another pregnant pause. Chuuya thinks about just hanging up. “I charge extra.”
To avoid being caught in a lie by his friends, Chuuya hires a fake boyfriend from a rental agency just for one night.
And then one night turns into six months. But it’s not like he likes the guy or anything.
