The evening had progressed enough that you were far from the first couple on the dance floor, but your date still looked caught off guard when you guided him to the middle of it.
You leaned into him until the lines of his hips were swaying against yours, hands resting light over his shoulders when you let him spin you to the beat of the music, an easy turn that drew a delighted laugh that was cut short when your back collided solidly with Zayne’s chest.
You squeak, peek up, the top of your head tucking gently underneath his chin.
He stares down at you, studies the heat rising to your face with a calculated expression. Murmurs, low enough so only you can hear it:
“Are you finished having fun?”
