Summary
The Upside Down is gone. The monsters are dead. Hawkins survived.
So why does the world feel like a poorly made copy of itself?
While Hawkins carries on pretending everything is normal, Will Byers becomes increasingly convinced that reality has developed a few... technical difficulties.
Mike Wheeler would love to believe it's all in Will's head.
The problem is, he's starting to notice it too.
As the cracks in reality grow impossible to ignore, Mike and Will are forced to confront a deeply unpleasant question:
What if the battle never ended?
If you're a fan of The Amazing Digital Circus, The Truman Show or the Conformity Gate theory you might enjoy this story.
Featuring: reality glitches, emotional repression, questionable coping mechanisms, and an unhealthy amount of dry British humor.
(Also comes with a really cool playlist. Probably.)

Summary
Wake up, Mike Wheeler
The walls of the bedroom are too tall, and Will looks around wondering if he’s lost his mind. Mike tracks his gaze, “Oh yeah, I see it too.”
His shoulders tighten and the room feels increasingly unsafe. “Can I sleep in your bed tonight?”Alternatively: Ao3's second ever Conformity Gate fic! The party won and the upside-down was detonated. Though still, Mike can't seem to trust the world around him. Nothing seems real, and everyone is acting off. Thankfully, Will notices it too.

Summary
Signals.
‘A brush of the knee, a bump of the elbow, a shared look, accrued like a snowball rolling down a hill, until it was obvious.’
Will asks, sincerely, “How obvious?” A whisper, eyes wide, the sin of curiosity kept in a secret space between Robin and himself.
The snowball became an “avalanche,” apparently for Robin, but had Will enough snow on his hill to say the same for himself?
Will, as he has come to understand, has a lot to think about. Mike had certainly shown him things beyond brushed knees and shared looks, talking about snowballs was nothing when it came to the blizzard that is their relationship. So Will continues on his day mostly focused, but his mind can’t help but play back certain events like little movies of the past eighteen months, after his conversation with Robin.
Or-
5 times Mike gave Will signals and 1 time Will took the bait, (taking place in those 18 months before s5!)

Summary
Maybe Mike would’ve felt brave for once and held Will’s hand. Maybe, Will wouldn’t have minded. Maybe then, he’d ask to go somewhere else, a broom closet or something, and maybe in there, Mike would have had the guts to spill everything out. Tell Will how much he cared for him, how he was the most important thing in Mike’s life, how he would rather his dad die a thousand times over than Will leave him. Tell Will just how much he lov-
Ding!
His coffee’s ready.
or: What if Mike was the one to see rovickie kiss at the hospital instead of Will? (this is pretty much a volume 1 rewrite, except I make Mike an actual character with feelings and not a cardboard cutout (yes, im still mad about the finale))
