Summary
Max Verstappen didn't plan to buy a man.
But when Charles Leclerc arrived in his study, golden in the afternoon light, the price seemed small.
Charles's family was bankrupt, their debts a mountain.
Max's terms were simple: three years as a companion, in every sense of the word.
Charles was an Omega, untouched, and Max's claim was as much a contract as a promise.

Summary
♔ Article 10. Succession to the Throne, opened following death or abdication, takes place in the direct and legitimate descent of the reigning Prince, in order of primogeniture with male priority to the same degree of kinship.
"I never understood how you were able to race as a prince," Max noted, watching him intently.
"Because I’m a bastard,” Charles said simply, ignoring the way Max flinches at the word. "My father married my mother without the Sovereign's approval. For the purposes of succession, that made us illegitimate." He kept his voice perfectly flat and practised. "Later, my grandfather lobbied heavily to change the constitution. It was easy to sell a legal text that allowed us to rejoin the line if something terrible happened to my uncle. Especially if the new law strictly excluded adopted children from the throne."
Max stared at him, slowly putting the pieces together. "He would rather rewrite the constitution than have an adopted grandson in the palace."
Charles drained the rest of his amber liquid, setting the heavy glass down. "He ensured the Crown only ever falls to a very specific type of family."Bookmarked by cleo28

Summary
"Max, we're brothers," Charles pressed his palms against his chest, trying to build at least some kind of boundary. "We have to stop."
Max caught his wrists, pinning them to the wall, and hovered so close his hot breath brushed Charles's lips.
"Brothers don't kiss until they bleed, Leclerc. And they definitely don't want each other the way we do right now."

Summary
“You ride well,” Pierre said one afternoon, in French, on a ridge above the canyon looking easy. “For a valley man.”
“Canyon riding is different,” Charles admitted, also in French. “Much steeper. Loose rock everywhere.”
“You’re adapting,” Pierre said. “I can see it from week to week.” He paused. “Max says you have good instincts.”
Charles looked at him. “When did Max say that?”
“To Dutch,” Pierre said, with the elaborately innocent expression of a man delivering information he knows is interesting. “About the Blackwood job. That you kept the horses steady… I happened to overhear it.”
Charles' lips quirked into a smile at that. Max had been speaking of him to the rest of the Gang... and he wasn't entirely against it.
In which, Charles Leclerc, a ranch boy, comes from the east with few possessions and an architecture built from guilt, in search for a new purpose. Instead, he finds himself a combative yet intimate companionship with the Vermelho Gang's toughest outlaw, Max Verstappen.
