Ango wasn’t sure what type of game this was. He wasn’t sure how Fyodor was manipulating his thoughts, burrowing so deep into his skull and clenching as if he owned every single one of them.
“You already know what I think.”
Fyodor’s mouth was slow to shift into a grin. The movement was languid, like an animal stretching on its hind legs. His canines flashed.
Ango was under no illusion.
Fyodor may have been the one behind bars, but ultimately -

Summary
He knew both of them too well to bother with asking why. They did it because they wanted to, likely because Jade wanted to and had asked Azul. Instead of asking him and planning it like normal people would, Jade planted the seed in Trey’s head a few months ago, and they let it germinate until he would have fantasized about it enough to be even remotely receptive to something like this.
