Cole doesn’t even pretend he’s not offended by that statement.
“No we weren’t?”
Nick frowns, his eyes still fixated on his phone.
“Yes, we were, Cole.”

Summary
Kirill picked up after a few rings, a question immediately coming from his mouth. “Bolds? What you calling for?”
Matt huddled the phone close to his mouth, having to keep his voice low so Quinn couldn’t hear it.
“I thought you’d be bored up there,” he replied. “Thought maybe you’d want something to watch.”

Summary
"Relax, citoyen—"
Antoine whirls on him. "The Republic is in peril, and you say relax?"
Camille holds his eyes steadily. He is used to his stormy husband. He feels no fear, only concern for the growing strain Antoine is facing. Truly, he does not want to add to his husband's troubles! He only wishes to alleviate them.
But everything he's said — or written — has only caused more damage.
He steps closer.
The tired, grey eyes remain stormy, but Camille can sense the reflexive shift in Antoine's breathing. Antoine's tongue darts out minutely, wetting his lips; one hand comes up to tug at his cravat, and Camille is certain that the pulse beating in his throat — the wild, vivacious pulse he's seen beating hard in his husband's neck when they're at home and safe and uncovered — is quickening.
Technically a sequel, but I think you can read this without its predecessor. Basically, Camille & Saint-Just got married for ~Politics~. You know, to cement alliances and heal rifts. Because of how well that had worked in the past. They are still working out some Differences Of Opinion.

Summary
"You know we wouldn't ask if it weren't for the good of the Republic."
Oh.
Fuck.
The good of the Republic.
This is, as Robespierre must know, exactly the right thing to say.
Louis Antoine Léon de Saint-Just has never — not once — doubted that he would give himself body and soul to the Republic.
He just never imagined that would mean giving himself to Camille Desmoulins.
As 1793 comes to a close, journalist Camille Desmoulins' critiques begin to target the current policies of the revolutionary government. The writings of this once-stalwart supporter of the Republic are popular, and he cannot easily be silenced. What is to be done about this conflict before it grows into a conflagration that consumes them all?Robespierre and his allies have An Idea.
a.k.a. The story in which Saint-Just is absolutely — infuriatingly — resolved to do his duty, but also, the poor author of filthy Organt is nervous.Series
