Fine... I caved in. If you ignore the insanely disturbing tags and the smut parts in the fic it's honestly so well written. Literally finished it in a day and this kind of resonates my experiences (of being a victim, okay.) And I don't condone any of the bad parts but dammit it's just too good not to recommend. Arcane fans.. give it a chance and check it out sometime.

“Ouch!” He cries. The sudden movement had hurt his shoulder. “Goka-”
“Those people,” Goka interrupts, voice suddenly clipped, “are Cleaners. The Hell Guard works with them sometimes. But you should avoid ‘em as much as possible.”
“Okay.” Zanka accepts easily. If Goka says someone is no good, he’s usually right.
“They’re sick in the head.” Goka grits out.

But between infighting online, they keep running into each other at concerts. Fucked up on cocktails of drugs and alcohol; things turn nasty, sexy, and dark very quick.
A combination of reckless recreational drug use, loud ass music and Mello's scary friend, Beyond, turns things from harmless, hateful fun to maybe too much for Matt to handle.

It’s hard to condemn Teru for what he does.

So nobody thinks to point out his growing hubris and tyranny. Not until a feline spirit, the sole blemish on his spirit hunting record, slips the net and dives into the protective arms of a battered Salt Middle student.
In his pursuit of a once-more pristine reputation as a spirit hunter, Teru suddenly finds his priorities muddied, his worldview skewed and all his attention on that oh-so-reserved boy who just won’t give up on his cat.
