Letting go of the past is not easy, even if you don't remember what you're supposed to miss.
When you woke up in Rivendell with your memory gone it was the start of a new life you did not expect. Who you were is a mystery which may never be solved, all that is left to do is move forwards in a world completely new to you. But you don't have to face it alone. Lord Elrond offers you safety, a home, even his friendship.
But he works too hard, you see it weighing on him. In return for all he has given you, you offer him respite from the weight of the world.
It is a bond you each grow to rely on.You have a lot to teach each other. How to let go, how to move on, how to take a moment to breathe.
And ultimately, when feelings of friendship are joined by feelings of love, you must learn how to live anew.This fic is written with the reader completely devoid of gender, and is trans and non-binary inclusive.
