Summary
Dr. McKay's Golden Rule for Academics of Any Gender: never ever go into someone else’s hotel room while at a conference. And don’t even think about inviting someone into yours. It didn't matter that she had met all of her previous husbands (as well as her current one) this exact way. She wanted her students to do as she said. Unfortunately, at least two of her advisees were determined to do exactly as she did.
Or,
Mel and Langdon will find each other in every universe, even when the universe is an academia au and they are fated to only see each other once a year at annual conferences and workshops until maybe, finally, their careers (and lives) settle down.Bookmarked by damseldems

Summary
“Did you know that hugs lasting longer than 20 seconds trigger the release of oxytocin in the brain?” Mel blurts out, and her mouth is moving before her mind can catch up. “Which is— It’s the same neurotransmitter released during orgasm, childbirth, laughter, and, um… A few other things.”
(or: a prickly new first-year brings down mel's spirits. langdon helps.)

Summary
And then Santos says — because of course she does, of course they would, of course it’s her fault — “And Langdon would be awful in bed, of course.” Mel blinks.
She somehow hadn’t expected them to get to Langdon, although she acknowledges it’s quite ridiculous of her to not have seen it coming considering the list of male coworkers they were rapidly striking. It’s just — well, Langdon isn’t exactly just a coworker to her, but also a friend. Someone she sends medical memes to and facetimes and watches bad movies on her couch to decompress, someone who pays for her coffee when she’s not looking and talks her down from the egde of a spiral and has met Becca. He’s — He’s Frank to her, and it’s weird to— talk about him that way. Extremely inappropriate, beyond what HR demands.
Still, Mel thinks she should defend his honor, and notes, “I think you might be letting your biases influence your judgment.”
or mel can't stop thinking about how frank's like in bed, and decides she should really just ask him

Summary
I saw the summary and trailer for episode 9, got a concussion, and then immediately wrote this. Apparently I get inspired after getting knocked in the head. This is my prediction (and a little bit of wishful thinking) of how their conversation is going to go down in tomorrow's episode!
