Summary
Looking back on his childhood, Tanjirou supposes maybe he’s not used to having so much attention on him at one time. His family celebrated birthdays of course, but there was a limit to how much his parents could do with six kids and one flow of income from their lone bakery, that's not even including themselves.
How could Tanjirou ever expect them to focus an entire day on only him?
Instead, he sacrificed countless gifts over the years to share with his siblings, or insisted on no gift at all to make sure they all had a good dinner together.
Eventually, birthdays became… just another day.

Summary
The day has come for Inosuke, Tanjirou, and Zenitsu to part ways for a whole year to do individual special training. It's going to be their longest time apart since meeting and for some reason this fills Tanjirou with an unknown anxiety he just can't seem to pin down when he should be looking towards the future with excitement.

This universe is set 5+ years after the fight with Muzan. He escaped, but Nezuko survived the demon antidote serum and is now human. Tanjirou and Inosuke are Hashira, and Zenitsu is off training a student to be the next lightning user. They get together in Home and everything thereafter is an established relationship.
