Summary
Varang was rescued by the Metkayina after suffering a near-fatal beating from Neytiri during a conflict with the Sky people and the Ash clan. Kiri, a child of Eywa, sensed something within her spirit, prompting the Water clan to take her in despite Neytiri’s disapproval. Varang was nursed back to health, bound to posts in her room for safety, while Kiri visited daily, intrigued by Varang's connection to fire. Two weeks passed without Varang waking until one morning, Kiri connected their braids, establishing an intense emotional link. Startled, Varang demanded to know why Kiri was in her head, and after some initial tension, she reluctantly agreed to accompany Kiri.
