Summary
It was Dr. Light who built X, but it was Dr. Cain who found him, who replicated him, who set in motion the reploid age and, so, the Maverick Wars. Whatever happened after may be considered his legacy, for better and for worse.
This is an incomplete history of the Maverick Wars and what went into them: Dr. Cain's contrarianism, Sigma's pride, Zero's stubbornness, and X's compassion. It's a chronicle of mistakes and sacrifice and love and desperation. It's a story of historical forces unleashed, and the handful of people who defied them.
