Summary
Mel has always loved When Harry Met Sally. Which is ironic because she disagrees with the premise. Of course Men and Women can be friends without sex getting in the way.
What she hadn't considered was the real thesis of the movie: "Can this Man and this Woman remain only friends?" Because the answer is No. If Mel had thought a little harder about it she would have had to acknowledge that her friendship with Frank Langdon would have to come to an end; one way or another.

Summary
Early fall in Pittsburgh, following the events of season 2. Mel hasn’t seen Langdon all summer. He’s taken time off to sort through his divorce without drowning. Move out. Fix what’s broken. Mel remembers how they left off watching the fireworks. Today, It’s Langdon’s first day back in the ER for good. That shaking hand hasn’t left her mind. Maybe this time she’ll hold it.
A fall Kingdon fic, filling The Pitt void after the season 2 finale. Expect knit sweaters, slow burn (ish - we’ll see how impatient I get), and a fair amount of yearning. Littered with medical inaccuracies, probably.

Summary
These feelings were new, equally terrifying and intoxicating. This must be what others felt when they encountered their favorite celebrity. Perhaps due to her own thoughts over the last year, Langdon had become a pseudo-celebrity in his own way. To her, at least.
What surprised her was that warm, stinging feeling that she had grown so used to avoiding. Years of overachieving in order to prove herself to everyone she met had allowed her to outrun it. Mel was envious. And maybe a little obsessed. She couldn’t understand exactly why, the whiplash of the last ten minutes still taking a toll on her psyche.
She already had a thousand new feelings to unpack tonight when she got home, what difference does two more make?

Summary
Before she could speak, Dana was sending him off to whatever patient was in Central 10, and looking at her from under her glasses. Mel turned, placing her hands on the nurses station in front of her, awaiting orders.
“Where’re you two going ?” She asked, instead.
“New York !” Mel chirped, “For the Renfaire,”
“You’re staying the weekend together ?” Dana asked. Mel nodded. “That’s sweet.” She said. There was something in Dana’s tone of voice, Mel wasn’t sure exactly what she was implying, but there were implications.
