Maka has known pain since she was very young. Having a rare form of connection to her soulmate should have been exciting, an insight to the life of one she was destined to meet and to love, but all it's brought her is the unique understanding that, whoever and wherever her soulmate is, they're suffering. And Medusa's new stupid nurse aide isn't helping that problem.
Crona was never supposed to have a soulmate. Failing as a kishin was bad enough, but having to bear the knowledge that their existence has caused only pain for someone who was never meant to be caught in the crossfire is something else entirely.
