Summary
The corner of his mouth is smudged with blood, and there's a mottle of too-high color near his cheekbone that will deepen into a bruise in a day or two. Gavin will wear it like a medal, like a gift, like a lipstick kiss, touch his fingertips to it when he knows RK900 is watching from across the bullpen.
RK900 tightens his grip. His thumbs dig into the jackhammer pulse at Gavin's wrists.
"You know," he tells Gavin, "there are much easier ways to do this."
Underneath him, Gavin shrugs noncommittally with a jerk of his shoulder.
"Maybe," he says. "But I'm no good at turning new tricks."
