Summary
“Ed?” he said tentatively. “What do you think?”
“Um…”
“Oh god, you’re shaking.”
“Yup. Yeah.” Ed was trembling head to foot. It was a lot of information to process, okay? And it wasn’t just a lot of information. It was potentially life changing information. Stuff that he had long since accepted he would never hear. And it sucked, but he was acclimated to that suckiness. And now here was Stede, throwing him either a lifeline or a fatal blow. He wasn’t sure which one yet.
“Why are you shaking, Ed?”
“Because I’ve been in love with you basically since we met, Stede. And you just said you were attracted to my sweat. I’m having a bit of a moment over here.”
---
Stede discovers what attraction feels like for the first time in his life (hint: it's Ed). Ed has a mini crisis about it, then a major crash out, and then the best sex of his life.

Summary
“What’s this?” Ed says, and tilts the mug towards his eyeline. He’s been doing a good job, so far, of looking everywhere except at Stede.
“Tea in its natural state,” Stede says. “You don’t have to drink it. I didn’t really ask you here for tea.”
Ed hunches like a child, but his hair and stubble is grey as a silverfish. He sounds as bitter as the tea when he says, “What did you really ask me here for, then?”
Or: Stede comes back to Edward. They both look for forgiveness, and relief.

“Can’t do what?”
“What I want to do. Sit in the chair. Keep your hands where I can see them.”

Summary
Stede goes very still for a moment, his next breath a touch heavier than the one before. “Captain’s orders?” he asks, taking a tiny step forward, back into Ed’s space.
“Yeah,” Ed breathes, and he backs against the desk as Stede takes another step, plants his hands on the wood and slides his hips up and back to sit. He lets his legs fall open, and the bell jangles, loud in the quiet cabin.
---------------
After agreeing to take it slow, Ed and Stede do just that. Until they don't :)

Summary
“Feels good,” Ed told him, breathless. “Bliss - love, surrender, all of it - feels so good. Don’t you want to feel that?”
For a moment, all Stede could see was the red flesh of apples, the flickering tongue of a snake, the dark cloven hooves of the Devil. Between his legs, Ed looked like sin itself, with his stormy curls and soft mouth.
Gripping the edge, Stede’s hands trembled.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Stede and Ed share a bath and work through Stede's inhibitions about being intimate. Written as an explicit epilogue to Ship to Wreck, but can be read as a stand alone.
