Three years after saying goodbye to Sam on that plane, Diane returns to Boston, and this time to stay. Now they'll have the ending they deserved, although it's actually just the beginning; lots of happy moments; group moments; and some kind of progress for all the characters. Everything Cheers should have given us.

Summary
Alt estimated she’d have six months left to live but V refused to accept it - refused to die. Refused a life without her hunky detective in it. So V returns to Night City. V returns home.
Set post-game long after the Star ending, which for me was one of the better endings but still left me heartbroken when River chose to stay behind. And since I doubt CDPRED is going to, I'm making it up to myself with this fanfic, a personally cathartic love letter of sorts to my favorite romance in the game, and a better ending to V's story (with River) than any of them that we were given, in my personal opinion. ^^
