Summary
After the divorce of his parents, Kageyama Tobio learned that not everything was picture perfect. Just as the dust begins to settle with his new stepmother and his negligent father, he learns that his real mother has fallen terminally ill halfway across the country after being away from their family for years. After learning that his stepmom is doing anything in her power to stop Kageyama from seeing his mother, he chooses to run away from his family (with an unlikely friend by his side) in order to finish the life he was supposed to have with his mother before it is too late.
His mother needs him. And it's up to him to find his new home- but he surprises himself with what his real home might actually be.

And, since Rose Lalonde is nothing but a bouquet of pretentious alternatives, it hadn’t surprised you when she also mentioned that he’d been a past acquaintance.
This means you really shouldn’t be surprised to find out that half of this mysterious dead man’s assets are freaky, weird occult shit.

Summary
There aren't all that many safe routes off Alternia for a mutant, but signing on to the Imperial Gladiatorial League has worked out pretty fucking well for Karkat Vantas. Turns out trolls all across the universe will pay out the nose for a chance to see The Hotblood bleed red.
Earth is just the next stop in Karkat's never-ending arena circuit, and the Strider Brothers are just another pair of opponents. And getting up close and personal with alien anatomy is just another perk of touring.

There's no room left for questions. It's the same voice he heard months ago, pleading in the dark from a faceless man. Only this time, he's the one without a face. And this time, no one is eavesdropping on those sounds, because the one who used to listen is now the one making Bruce fall apart like this.
(Or, Clark thinks Batman has a very nice voice. It's been stuck in his head ever since he accidentally heard him during… sex. There's something about Bruce Wayne's voice that feels strangely familiar.)
