“Why not?” Eddie folds his arms and quirks an eyebrow. “What about the chain of comm—”
“If you say chain of command, I will crash the car,” Buck interjects.
908 coda. Eddie stops keeping some secrets of his own, he and Buck talk, and Eddie discovers that fear may very well be the thief of joy.

“What’s your problem, man? Is it that awful that you’ll have to room with me this year?” Buck asks, snapping Eddie out of his racing mind to look at the man he was falling in love with over the summer.
He doesn’t even know what to say.
They spent the entire summer texting while Eddie was back at home in El Paso and Buck was travelling around South America but they never once spoke about what it would mean for them when they got back to school.

Buck and Eddie hookup then don't see each other all summer just for them to get to school in the fall and find out they're rooming together.

“Wanna dance?” Eddie asks, leaning only slightly away to look at Buck. He’s smirking now, eyes traveling all over Buck’s face, taking in his expression and the color blooming on his cheeks.
There’s a look in Eddie’s eyes now, one that Buck hadn’t quite seen before this trip. Or had he? Did it just not mean to him then what he realizes, or thinks, it means now? Regardless, it confirms a thought that has been niggling at the back of his mind all night.

or, Buck visits Eddie in Texas a few months after he leaves LA. They road trip to Austin with Adriana to stay with Sophia, who has planned a night out on the town that none of them will soon forget - especially Buck and Eddie.
