The Todorokis were a household name of Olympic swimmers; no one really remembers when the tradition started, but it was always known that if the swimming event was on, a Todoroki would more likely than not be on screen with a gold medal in hand.
Touya was deemed unteachable after his fear of water development over the years of his father’s brutal training. He was quickly discarded, along with his other two siblings, for their lack of natural talent and skill.
Now that Shouto is of age to learn, Enji decided to try a different method of introducing the sport to his youngest. Instead of home-based training, Shouto was placed in swim lessons with other kids his age– swim lessons that Touya was stuck being the chaperone for.
Not that he’s complaining once he sees the attractive blonde that works there; maybe going to the pool won’t be so bad after all.
