Daniel squirmed then, and Armand winced, prepared for rejection - but his fledgling just draped a hand over his shoulder and scowled. “I wouldn’t know about that.” He said.
Armand frowned. “Wouldn’t know about what?”
Daniel swallowed hard, and would not meet his eyes. “About how it feels to…you know. Never did it that way.”

Summary
Daniel sees life like a river. Thinks he is caught up in a current that only goes one way, that will eventually sweep him out to sea. It’s easier for him to think so. It keeps him alive to think so.
He doesn’t know that he could stand up and reach the bottom. He doesn’t know he has a choice.
Drugs don’t work, sex doesn’t work, New York hasn’t worked. Somewhere in the Appalachian Mountains, an improbable number of suicides have taken place. Somewhere in a bar in New York, Daniel hears about them. He wants to fill a void. The difference between what is real and what isn’t matters as little to him as the things he’ll find to throw into the darkness. Which, as it turns out, is quite a lot.

Armand had forgiven Louis for all the terrible things he’d said to him. He even forgave him for attempting to abandon him. And although things were better, what with Louis now dependent on him, Armand couldn’t get the fascinating boy out of his mind.
OR: Desperate, whiny-pathetic, disaster-bisexual Daniel Molloy is Armand’s catnip. My take on what happened between 1973-1985 (Devil’s Minion era), but the TV universe version.
