There’s a hollowness in his eyes unfamiliar to Youichi; his lips dip down in defeat, as if to say: “Go on, pity me. I won’t fight back.” Youichi realizes that this version of Miyuki—the one who wordlessly hands over his t-shirt—is him with his armor fully removed.
It’s a harrowing sight.
Youichi may have told him to break down after they won; but there’s nothing that could have prepared him for when this moment finally comes.
Miyuki breaks down; Kuramochi is there to help build him back up.
