    Nile scowled. “Have you never wanted to take a break from fighting?”
    “What am I supposed to do? Start knitting?”
    Nile shrugged, “I don’t know but this whole fighting thing? It ain’t right.”
    I chuckled, but it held no real mirth. “It’s the only thing that is right. It was either fight or die. Whenever I fought I got praised, I got spoiled. Can you imagine the thrill you get from killing after a while?” my eyes bore into hers. “Have you ever seen a dog conditioned to a certain task?”
    Nile walked down the steps of the porch. “You’re not a dog, Tigris. You’re a person!”
    “I’m a weapon”, my voice held no emotion.

    Tigris had spent all of her life fighting in the arena, she expected to die there. She did, but she got back up again. Andromache and her team got her out. But the world outside of the arena isn’t black and white. Who is she outside of it? A monster without conscience? A hunter of those who wronged her? Can she redefine herself or will her past claim her?
