“Alright then, keep me company.” Caleb swings around to face the foyer, casting a long glance over his shoulder. “I’ve always been more of a night owl anyway.”

You step towards him with a wolfish smile. Rafayel slips a finger into one of the belt loops on your pants, tugging you closer. “I think you could stand to be knocked down a few pegs,” you say.
Rafayel’s brows raise, his eyes burning with a challenge. He opens his mouth, but the sound of the elevator arriving has him stepping back, putting a more appropriate amount of space between your bodies.
The elevator dings open and there’s no one else there. You step inside and Rafayel follows immediately, slinking in close enough behind you for you to feel the warmth of him radiating against your back. When you turn to face him, he’s staring down at you.
The door remains open for a few more seconds, waiting for any possible stragglers, and when it seems like no one else will be joining, Rafayel leans in to brush his lips against your ear.
“I dare you,” he murmurs.
So you do.

There’s a trill of something sweetly arousing that flashes through you then and you tilt your head to the side. There’s no mistaking his interest now and your heart rate picks up a bit when he drags his fingers up and down the length of your arm once, stroking it.
“Oh? And what’s this new entertaining thing you’ve happened upon, then?” you ask and you’re close enough that his hip is pressed against yours.
His breath ghosts across your skin, warm and sweet with the scent of one of the fruity drinks they’d been passing around the party. “Why don’t I show you? Let’s find a more… secluded place, shall we?” he offers softly, lowly, and your brain goes quiet for a few moments.
