Satoru widened his eyes, the blurred lines between fantasy and reality finally becoming clear to him. He forced down the bile in his throat, his trembling hands pushing through his hair. "What are you trying to say?” he choked out.
Megumi frowned, more hurt by the situation than he wanted to admit. "You know what I'm saying. You’ve known for a while, haven't you? You just didn't want to see it."
Satoru gnawed on the inside of his cheek, watching as Megumi took a shaky breath. "This whole time, you've been kissing ghosts."
OR
Satoru doesn’t know why Megumi is so worried about him—he’s perfectly fine. So what if he drinks too much? So what if he can barely sleep at night? He’s going to marry Suguru soon, and that’s all that matters. Right?

might be a new favorite, perfect length for a fic like this and the relationship was a slow burn while the fic not being ao3 novel length. also amazing if you want no sexual content but still a bit of physical stuff! the concept is definitely common but the author made it special ❤️
