After auditioning for a band, III feels like his chances of getting the part are quite high and so when he learns that the band didn't choose him nor gave him any form of rejection, he feels crushed.
But it's nothing he can do, therefore he moves on with his life, when he starts crossing paths with some of the musicians he wanted to work alongside with.

Summary
The basement always smelled faintly like dust and stale energy drinks.
Micah liked it. It reminded him that it was theirs. Their space to just be and exist.
He was early, something that normally didn't happen, and he didn't really know what to do with himself. The noise from the flats above offered a small distraction, but it didn't stop his thoughts from drifting to a world full of promises and success. He never really said it out loud, as this kind of dream, to be famous, to achieve something great and be something special, always sounded so childish to him.
He often imagined them making it, how it would be to be famous and meet their idols. A wistful sigh left him as he stood and started setting up their gear.
Finishing up, he was relieved to hear footsteps nearing and a moment later the door slammed open.
“You could’ve told us you were down here, we wouldn’t have bothered waiting outside, you know?”
Mars dropped his backpack on the floor hard enough to make the shelves rattle.
“Ever heard of saying hi first?”, Micah gave back, “besides, I thought you’d already be down here.”
